Collaborations

Collaborations (aka collabs) are quite a common thing in social media. You find people do them a lot on YouTube and sometimes on Instagram.

collaboration
the action of working with someone to produce something.
“he wrote a book in collaboration with his son”
synonyms: cooperation, alliance, partnership, participation, combination, association, concert; teamwork, joint effort, working together.

As I continue to meet new creatives  with the meetups and through my Instagram my desire to work with different people increases. I find myself eager to learn new things, explore new concepts and to see different ways of doing photography.

Unfortunately due to having a 9 to 5 job and not having unlimited energy I have to limit the amount of collabs I do. This is the main reason why I haven’t messaged more people to propose a collab (another reason is that I can be super shy). But when someone gets in touch I tend to say yes.

I did say yes a couple of weeks ago and was supposed to go out for a sunset shoot in London with a blogger last Sunday. Sadly she fell ill on the day and cancelled the shoot. Funnily enough I had commented with my boyfriend that every photographer complains about cancellations but I had had no problems so far. Guess I talked too soon.

It is lovely working with different people. Having their input into what you are creating is amazing. When you click with someone you can create beautiful things together. You can also learn from each other while having a good time.

Saying all this I am open to doing it more often. If I can fit it in my free time and I think we can both benefit from it I am likely to say yes.

As I am going to be in Portugal for two weeks next month I thought it would be great to collab with someone while I am there. I will be mostly in Lisbon but might do a little trip to Algarve.

Will be looking to work with models, bloggers and/or YouTubers. No need to be super professional or have a ton of followers. If I like your work and you have some ideas you would like my help with let’s connect.

If you are interested or if you know someone who would be interested in working with me next month in Portugal please send me a message on Instagram or leave a comment on this post.
